Shiva of Firefly Life Sciences kept mentioning an alternative to asphalt/cement road for a farm. He told me that he had laid out some of these in his coffee estate and we decided to try it out. Our driveway is about 160 metres long and it was a regular dirt road when we bought the property. While this was sufficient for our needs, about a month before we decided to pave the driveway, my Bolero got stuck in the driveway in the slush at 2 a.m as I was trying to drop my sister and her kids to the airport for an international flight. This Bolero was not a 4-wheel drive and it took us an anxious 30 minutes to pull it out of the slush and drop them to the airport to make the flight. We had made some enquiries for a cement track and also cobblestone. So it was just pure timing when Firefly mentioned this solution. We thought we would give it a shot and also support a new technology. I have known Shiva for a long time and knew that we could trust his team to put in their best efforts. If this road could withstand the monsoon in Coorg, we thought it would work for us. We wanted a low cost and aesthetic driveway. Since our home is constructed out of mud-bricks and there is greenery all around, the Road matched this look perfectly. The Road held very well for 2 years and with some patchwork repair on minor potholes and loose gravel, it is now close to 8 years since its execution. I would certainly recommend this product for someone who wants to put a road together in a farm or an estate

I had requested Firefly to give me a road solution for Amrutha Coffee – which is located in a high rainfall area, with movement of container trailers on a regular basis. I had explained to them that the conventional road surfaces require regular maintenance and patch work; considering the type of vehicular movement. It’s been 9 years since they constructed the roads in the factory premises and I haven’t had a single issue with the road – in spite of being battered by floods two years in a row and regular heavy truck movements. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the Magnafix roads.
